Alpha Park Public Library
First Floor Resources:
Centered downstairs is the large Check-out desk. Staff members help patrons with check-out and return of materials. They facilitate reserves and inter-library loans and maintain patron records there. Reference librarians are stationed at the Information desk to answer and assist in information searches. Also housed here are the adult collections of books and magazines.
Directly west of the Check-out desk is the Reading Room. Current magazines, videos, CD's CD-ROM's and audiocassettes are shelved here. Spacious, comfortable seating, large windows, and a beautiful view make this an inviting part of the building.
Second Floor Resources:
Our Youth Services Department fills the upper floor. Children's videos, Juvenile fiction and picture books are shelved there. Juvenile magazines and biographies line the south wall. Rebecca Caudill Young Reader Books and Newbery Award books are shelved separately.
A large story hour room is located in the east side of the second floor. Near it is the Youth Services office/workroom and study room. A two-tiered carpeted riser where youngsters can sit and read is a special favorite. Three computers are available for children's access and educational game play.
